Happy Beltane 2017!

Every year on May 1st, I take a nature walk with the kids. This year, Alice was in school so, Roran and I went together. I am continually in awe of how much love is inside of him. He carefully chose every dandelion he picked to make sure they had been pollinated. He watched a bumble bee on a flower for almost 5 minutes, waiting for it to be done with the flower before picking it. I was given the pleasure of having him explain the wind to me and how, even though we can't see it, it touches everything and helps life grow. Like every, happy, hippie momma, I love watching my children grow into beautiful, blazing souls, filled with love and compassion. Sometimes, I am just taken aback by how much they understand. Often, they seem to know more than so many adults I have met.

In the spirit of Beltane, the children made a bird house and feeder to help the little sparrows who often get pushed around by the mourning doves. We bought the kits at the Dollar Store. They were simply made and even easier to put together. I highly recommend them for kids 4 and up. I will be stocking up on them for the years to come.

Roran built the bird house with only a little help from me.

He painted it all by himself.

Alice refused my help entirely building her bird feeder!

Happy Beltane everyone!
